In 2015 at 19 she debuted her first single Here. The single was a smash and garnered praise from critics and listeners alike. The Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it as 19. Even Rolling Stone called the single one of its Best Songs in 2015. The same year, she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which reached the top of Billboard charts. This includes The Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. It was a special track because, based on her Rap-Up interview she gave many of the listeners could connect to her experiences of finding love for themselves, and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara is famous for including the themes of mental health and kindness and self-love into her songs. She's been in the midst of anxiety and insomnia, both of which have influenced her journey. In an interview with Reuters, she described her album as "half tumultuous" and "half flawless". Her growth was aided by therapy and encourages other people to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. Her birth date was July 11, 1996, to parents of Italian heritage. Her parents gifted her with a guitar when she was 10 and this led to her passion for music. Three years later at the age of 13 she started covering her most loved songs through YouTube an important media platform to prove to the world she was talented and courage to become a professional singer. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was the first thing that made her stand out. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to create and write her own songs.
