She released her debut single, Here in 2015 at the age of aged 19. The track received praise from music critics and listeners. The single peaked at 19th at both Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it as one of the top songs of 2015. That same year she debuted her first album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked in the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. The track was also one of the five original songs. It was a special track due to the Rap-Up interview that she did with her listeners were able to identify with her journey of learning to love themselves and doubting her. Cara integrates messages about compassion and self-love throughout her songs. All of it is a result of her personal experience as she suffered from mental health problems and insomnia. When she spoke to Reuters, she said that her album was "half tumultuous" as well as "half flawless". She found growth through therapy and encourages other people to seek assistance if needed. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born July 11, 1996, to parents with Italian heritage. She was given a guitar from her parents at the time she was 10 years old, which sparked the passion for music. In 2013, she performed her favorite songs for YouTube which is a well-known platform for media. The goal was to prove that she had both the ability and the confidence to become an artist. In fact, one of the covers Sweater Weather ended up getting her noticed by a record label named EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create her tracks.
