Scars to Your Beautiful is one of five songs she wrote that made it to the Billboard charts. It was a special track because, based on her interview with Rap-Up that she conducted, many of her listeners were able to identify with her journey of learning to love themselves and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara's music is known to contain messages of love, self-love and mental health. Her music is an expression of her own personal struggles in dealing with anxiety and depression. In a Reuters interview, she has described her album as half-tumultuous but half perfected. Therapy helped her grow and urges people to try it too.
