Ricci began her career as a young child actress for her roles as Wednesday Addams and Addams Family Values (both 1993) in The Addams Family and as Kat Harvey, in Casper. Ricci's journey into roles for adults began with The Ice Storm in 1997, and was followed by her acclaimed performance as The Opposite of Sex in 1998 for which Ricci was awarded an Golden Globe nod for Best Actress.
